Default WHat do you guys think

I know this might not be the right area to post this. but if i post it anywhere else i will not get the responce i get from you guys because we drive pretty much all the same cars. I was just in a SMALL accident, someone ran into my rear end at a rate of about 5mph.... it cracked the rear bumper, and pushed in the passenger side rear 1/4(where the tail lights mount up to). I have a feeling that the work its going to take to fix it is going to be more than the valued cost of my car. Now i could have the insurance company total it out, and buy it back from them for a couple hundred, and still be up some money, or i could just have them total it out and take the money, but i dont know if i would have enough to get a new car. How much does the avrage EG shell cost? if i could get a shell i could just swap all the work i have done to the good shell body. What are your guys sugestions...? any are welcome. BTW my car is a 1993 Civic DX 2 door coupe, with major rust around the rear wheel wells (im sure you all know what im talking about.

Thanks again in advance.

If it's the other person's fault then they should be obligated to take the bill for your repair. That is, if you're bumper is OEM.

The other persons insurance is taking care of it. but the body damnage done is going to cost more than my car is worth, therefore the insurance company will just total out my car and give me the money for it. After that i could buy it back from them for a couple hundred bucks, and i was thinking about buying a shell then... because the rust damnage on my car is real bad.

it depends, start looking for a shell soon so you can make your decision before its too late, the honda rust is a bitch, i welded in new rear quarters on my 4dr and it was a pain in the ***, a 2dr is a little bit more simple cuz you don't have to weld and blend in the door jams, plus you gotta replace atleast the one quarter anyway either way good luck with it. also it helps to be good friends with someone very familiar with autobody haha good luck
