what do the P numbers mean regarding the ecu's?

Default what do the P numbers mean regarding the ecu's?

i keep looking through forums and finding people talking about p28 and p 30 and other numbers, what does it mean?

how do i know my number on my car and how do i know what ecu will fit?

I think the P stand for program or part, if anything.

i guess there are just serial numbers...to put it this way...right ecu works perfect with right engine...and some times .u need ecu harness conversion to make this work.. to get the right ecu, it depnds on what kind of engine under your hood.. p30 and p28 are both obd1 ecus

my car is european so i only know european civic models etc.
does enyone know where i will get a p28 or p30 ecu, what car?
