What to do with my EK for 2010
So here goes, I got a super clean 00 Civic CX that doesnt run and has been sitting for a year and a half. The engine is a stock y7 with no intake manifold and no engine harness. No Carpet, AC, PS, Stereo or Heat.
Ive got tons of good parts lying around and l WILL have a running EK if it means getting this one going or starting over.
My dilemma:
Im attatched to this car and its in really good condition. However, i regret pulling the heater core and ventilation. I will have to buy a brand new engine harness and throttle body to get it running. A few other things may come up but overall it shouldnt take much to get it going.
Option #2
Swap the engine...B series is all I could possibly afford but i am in California and I cant put anything older than 2000 since that is the year of my hatch. I could be wrong.
Option #3
Sell the shell. Find another EK with AC and full interior. Install my parts from old EK. Start Fresh.
Input please.

I believe the cheaper way would be to fix your motor.... Find some parts online and piece it back together...... But if you can afford it then swap!

Yeah, you KNOW what is wrong with your car, you don't know what is wrong with the next car you buy, and you're already going to sink more in to it up front because it's running. It is simply not money savvy to switch cars left and right. Believe me, I know, I've owned over 25 cars and I'm 24 and bought my first one at 16. I've blown a lot of money by switching cars left and right.

I have a good idea of whats wrong but im afraid theres gonna be some more gremlins. I will need a new oem harness $200-400. Last time i started it, the motor surged and i couldnt figure how to stop it. Checkd for all vaccum leaks, ran a little lean, fan wouldnt come on and i some parasitic battery drain going on somewhere. All reasons why its been sitting for so long.
Its my fault really, i got in over my head when i started my wiretuck and y8 intake mani swap. The damn car ran like a champ 80mi everyday to work and back.
decision, decisions...

I say go to the pick and pull....you should be able to get the carpet, under dash parts, and a full harness for under $100
What are you waiting for?

Then, with your current harness, you can lay it all out, unwrap it find any and all bad areas and fix them. You can also extend wires as need be for the tuck and then, once it's ready, you can take a weekend to switch the harness out and have a much less stressfull wire tuck.
