Car jumped a tooth
Hey guys...got my b16a2 running on my ek couple months now....well found out reason it runs like crap because timing jumped a tooth....i was going to set my timing right since i had changed the dizzy to an obd2....and noticed that setting the gun at 16 degrees...while the car at operating temp...i can never line up my red mark on the pulley with the long arrow on the belt cover......i then try set cam gears at TDC...but one of them is a tooth off......
what to do now? on a budget...really tight budget....
do i just take off cover loosen tensioner and set everything to TDC....put belt back on and there....
Can my internals from longblock be damaged?
should i replace belt, tensioner?
ORR
I have a b20b (low hp)....bought from passwordjdm...never used since....im planning on going b20v possibly boost, but will run b20v for now if affordable...depends on what i need....if internals wont damage from that jumped tooth on timing....i can just get a golden eagle vtec kit....and swap it over the head......but if i need to rebuilt head..thats out of my budget at this time.....
what timing belt would i need for b20v using b16a head? would b16a2 starter should work correct....i have virgin p28 to run either engine setups (pending arrival).
LAst....if i wanted to put the b20b in there stock...(i have one with short IM complete.....not them big tall ones.), can i use my parts from b16 and get b20b stock running on the car? like tranny...flywheel...cluth....starter...alternator, i searched and wa reading about the throttle cable or something being changed....??
Any help is greatly appreciated as i need a daily driver ASAP...thanx
