What CR should i have for my setup
What CR should i have for my setup im thinking about going with Areas piston (12.5.1) Compression and Board out to 85mm and keepping my 10k shift point.
this is my setup:
ENGINE :
JDM integra type R motor
Skunk2 stage-3 cams
Skunk2 stage-3 valve springs
Jun stage-3 titanium retainers
Skunk2 cam gears
P-30 ecu
Mugen program (10K rpms)
RPM 70mm Throttle Bodies
370cc RC injectors
B&M Fuel pressure reg
NGK racing sparkplugs (7) Hr
Unorthodox Racing Red crank pulley
MSD racing sparkplugs wires
JDM APEXi VTEC Controller (V-AFC)
Port matched intake
JDM APEXi n1 B pipe exhaust
6al MSD ignition
J’s racing intake
ST Stainless steel valves (Nitrile coated)

Re: What CR should i have for my setup (JACKASS MOO!)
i get most of my stuff from import power house http://www.importpowerhouse.com,
you think i can run pump gas "91" with 12.5.1 cr ? if not what do you think i can run?

well... it'd be better if u had 93 oct. should invest in hondata or uberdata. on a build like that, would def be better than any mugen prog. most likely your air/fuel curves, and timing, ignition's going to be way off with those programs. remember they're not tuned w/ your car in mind. could end up doing damage instead. Hondata/uberdata will allow u to fine tune for your car. with those progs should be able to run perfectly on pump gas.

Re: What CR should i have for my setup (cbaracing)
bogus_ek,
Thanks i will upgrade to a hondata after i work on the CR problem im having, i thank that's why i only have 207whp, i think the CR needs to be more then 11.0.1 for the Skunk2 stage-3 cams.
cbaracing,
i have it in a 92hb. yes i run at FB, the last time i ran it was a 13.4 on street tiers.

Hey i noticed that you have ST Stainless steel valves (Nitrile coated). Valves other then stock R's will snap , i had it in my ls/vtec and blew the head. stock honda valves bend rather then snapping. my opinion is that if your going to be using that high of a CR with the cams switch back to the R's if you still heve them

Mine is charcoal gray also next time i go out might be this Saturday, you have a # i can hit you up at. so what's your et and your set up? i was just at the shop and there trying to talk me in to going to 15.0:1 85mm bore with a 93mm stroke. but i will have to run 100+oct, it would be fast, i just don't know about the 100+oct.

haha...that compression ratio is ridiculous. theres NO NEED to run that high. i would say you are at about 11-11.3 to 1 compression. sounds like that motor is waaaay over cammed because stage threes are ideal for over a 12.1 compression ratio, not your current compression. a good way to get your cp up is to mill the head..imo. i think it would be better to switch to a less aggressive cam unless you plan on getting 12:1 compression pistons.

Re: What CR should i have for my setup (anothersickhatch)
so you think that 12.1 will work good with that cam set up?
yess im at 11.3:1 right now.

you dont think i will gain thay much more by going to more CR? and is 12.0:1 ideal for Skunk2 stage-3 cams i was told that i need 12.5:1+ cr
HEPL!!!!! lol

12.0:1 sounds pretty damn ideal for stage three's. odds are you will definatly gain more power with higher compression, but the only way to do so is by getting high domed, high compression pistons, or milling the head.
if you decide on 12.0, make sure you get it tuned by using hondata otherwise running 91 octane is suicidal for your motor.

i agree, that's a pretty high CR for 91, just fill up as high as possible. I've seen as high as 95 pump gas in the midwest, but around my area is a max of 93. Just use the highest grade possible to avoid problems. If you end up going the 12.5:1 route. I might try to get a set up to get about 12.0:1 or even 11.8:1.

12:1 - 12.5:1 is probably ideal for a street driven set-up running S2S3's. The stage 2 and 3's love compression.
If you take some timing out and use Hondata, you could probably run that compression on 91 octane.
There's a few guys in the All Motor forum doing it.

i put ave gas in some times its 101 low lead and it go for about for $2.78 right now ok i guess i will just go with 12.1 i hope i will see a gain in only going up .7 to 1.
