Ah, don't worry about it, it's just one of those "extra parts" that you'll have during your conversion.
Honestly dog, I don't know but bump for general knowledge.

Throw it away, its a interlock switch you have no use for it anymore, don't even think about it, just throw it away, its for the park switch i'm pretty sure, and since you won't have a auto anymore throw it away

Re: what is this? (BROKE.eg)
yup, u dont need it. i too did an auto to manual conv. on my 93 sol. running the clutch line, and installing the pedals were the biggest pain the ***...but oh so worth it. especially going from a 1.6 sohc auto to a gsr swap. woo hoo. good luck with the conversion.
oh yeah, remember to connect your wires correctly near the shifter...that's what prevented from starting 'er up for two days...stooopid me!

ding ding ding...
Id just like to mention a question though... would you have to connect 2 wires together to trick the car into thinkin the key is in? I had to do that on a friends 240sx.

No, if you remove that you do not need to do anything more. That's how it was on my EJ1.

Re: what is this? (JDM-EJ1)
You don't just remove that box and all is well, the guy above was correct in that you have to wire the green wire with white stripe to the black wire in order to trick the car in to thinking it is in park to start it up.....(the wires from the plug near the auto shifter)
JDM EJ1, didn't your car get swapped in a shop?
