weird VSS issue (searched)
Hey guys, i've looked through the topics i found in the search ,
and none of them describes or similar to my problem.
My speed was some times freaking out (on hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear).
i replaced my Clutch Release Throwout Bearing with a new one, (in a shop , nto by myself...)
since then , my VSS speedo wont work...
i took the VSS out , cleaned it , and placed it back , nothing helped.
i took a wire, and touched the cable going to the ECU (Yellow/White) and the ground cable (Black)
and the speedo worked.
is there a chance i just put the VSS the wronge way into the gear? (S80 LSD)
or my VSS just died and i need a new one?
edit: CEL LIGHT NOT GOES ON! even when i disconnect the clip from the VSS.
TIA

I believe the VSS can only go together one way. I have assembled a new one so I'm sure, only one way.

Re: weird VSS issue (magefa)
one other thing ive heard about is the wire terminals coroding and not making a good conection. unplug it and check inside and around the wires for any breaks.
other than that id say swap the cluster out. my old 94civics cluster started to deside when it wanted to work the speed and when it didnt want to.LOL i replaced the VSS twice to the same problem, just ended up being a bad speedometer in the cluster. i bought a cheaper DX civic cluster with close to same milage as what was on mine, took them apart swaped out the whole speedometer and it worked perfect again.
