Ok so today had to be the sh*#ist day that i have ever had. Woke up for work (late) then was bustin **** to work in the rain. Well i hit a mud puddle and my car died....so i figured that maybe it could not just suck up any air so it killed. WRONG....i try and start it for about 10 min, and nada. So then i get a ride to work and leave it in a parking lot. So then I go back with my dad to look at it. We take out all the plugs, and putt in a new batt (because the otherone was about dead from me trying to start it). So i turn it over and I swear that it looked like a geyser squirting out of my spark plug holes. So i guess i am going to have to do a little engine work. What could possible be the problem. When i turn it over now i hear a knocking sound. Do you guys think that maybe the head is salvagable and the block is out? Or what occurs inside when water is introduced like that? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Air is sucked in through your intake. Air can compress in the combustion chamber, water cannot. When your pistons came up and water was in there things started to bend because the water would not compress. That is called hydrolock and you've pretty much bought yourself a new motor. Sorry

the same thing happen 2 me in september. i snapped a rod in the 4th cylinder causing it to make 2 holes in my block. I took out the motor and got a new bottom end. You should try turning the crank pulley if it doesnt turn easily all the way around u probaly bent or snapped a rod goodluck

can't u buy a adaptor for the intake, so that doesn't happen?

you need to let it dry out,drop the oil pan and change your bearings NOW,do not drive it at all untill you do,YOUR bearings are shot,do not drive it 10 feet,if you change your bearings you should be ok as long as its not destroyed your crank yet.

If you`re still single cam, it`s not that bad. A new used shortblock is fairly cheap. Labr might hurt.

Just curious, what intake was it and did you have a bypass valve?

Bearings shot, probably rings are gone. Maybe a bent rod or two...

Time for a new engine.

i'm really starting to think that i should install the bypass valve on my car....i got it, but i'm just too lazy to install it.

I figured that it was a bent rod or something. I am going to drop the oil pan and pull the head today and tonight. I hope that it is just a rod, it gives me an excuse for the new Eagle rods. Thanks alot for all the help.
