want camber
I am wondering if you can give a del Sol a little bit of neg. camber. I have a 2" drop, and it did'nt give me enough. We autox, that's the reason I need camber....any suggestions would be appreciated..

Sure, buy a skunk 2 camber kit. You can add -/+ camber as you wish. I'd take it to an alignment rack thought to make sure I had the same amount on both sides. I would think -1to-1.25 degree would be ideal for a level surface.

Re: want camber (Turbo E)
thanks guys, thats what I thought. I have heard about slotting the upper A arm so that it can shift back, but I don't know how well that would hold under extreme cornering...any thoughts..

Re: want camber (larrysdsol)
can you clarify some stuff for me? first, your sig says you were the 02 dsp champ in your region (congrats) but you drive a del sol. last i saw the del sol's were in csp. second, in your post you said the car was in a "stock" class, yet it is lowered 2". stock classes don't allow you to alter the ride height. so i have to ask, are you really in dsp? (should be csp, unless there was a change i missed. i know my car got bumped from csp to dsp, so i can see that happening to the sol)
some more questions i have;
1) why do you think you have insufficient camber?
2) what _is_ your current camber setting?
3) what tyres are you using?
4) what spring rates/swaybars?
i can lower my coupe to the point that i have over -3.5* of camber in the front. but i also run a very stiff front suspension to keep the car from rolling onto the bumpstops. i also have shortened and revalved koni's. my problem has been dialing out rear camber, as i can't fit my tires into the wheel-wells with nearly -3* rear camber as it is, let alone if i dial that back to -2 or -1.75.

Re: want camber (Doctor CorteZ)
Well, I've been running dsp, but am looking to go stock. The rear of the car does'nt like to rotate. I have H&R springs which are rated at 275. I run Kumho Victoracers. I have tried adjusting stiffness with the AGX's that I have, and adjusting tire pressure. It fixed it a bit but it still likes to spin. I have terrible outside shoulder wear, I would like to use more of the rubber on the corners, rather than having to pancake the tires every 15 laps. Hope that answers your questions, please give suggestions. I have the car ready now, without springs, just shocks ( which is aloud )...

I hope this will help, I work in an alignement shop,. we had some 96 hatch race car and what guy did, he actually bent his spindles in the upper part, where it connect to the UCA. Ha had -3 degrees of camber on each side and he was not droped too much.
so you can try it!

Re: want camber (larrysdsol)
for a stock class car such as yours you have no provisions to change camber. having tires with no shoulders is going to be a big part of your future. to be fast in a stock class with a honda:
1) _big_ front swaybar. itr/gsr is 24mm, 99-00 si is 26mm. i would go with the 26mm bar
2) tire stagger. a 225 hoosier will fit on the stock wheels. 225/50/14 fr with 205/55/14 rear
3) learn to drive with rear toe out, or change at events. this is a fine tune trick to get the last bit of rotation out of the car.
