Wanna get most out of my car @ Infineon (Sears Point) drags. Questions!
Okay, I'm going to replace my Si shiftknob with my DC one hoping the added mass will help me slam into the next gear quicker and more easily. What improvement will I see in my ET?
Just kidding.
My initial plan was to be spray 75-shot into my beastly (hardly) D16Y7 with ignition retarded 4 degrees and fuel pressure upped about 5-7 psi for my I/E/H. (ZEX's cooler plugs and Exedy Racing Organic clutch are also used) This is of course on 91 petrol. I was wondering if I could return my timing to stock specs and run one of the higher octane gasolines the track has available. Is 100 octane or something like that offered there?
Also, if I drag all-motor, normally I do not let off the gas pedal during shifts. If I did this while squeezing and hit my rev limiter (say I did not shift fast enough), can I possibly do some serious damage to my engine?
Hope for no flames, I'm serious about these questions. Thanx in advance.
