Default Vted and low idle issue.

Sup everyone. 95 Civic Ex with 1.6, got the drilling done for the block and threaded for M12x1.25 bolts and I can say the head gasket, head and everything is ALL RIGHT. Now, I have done the timing belt, water pump, fresh coolant, plugs and oil. Weirdest thing though is the timing is correct at Factory setting but the idle drops to 500 when warmed up. Im so close to getting this badboy legal in NJ to drive, but I need some help. Can the Vtec system be the culprit? I have already cleaned the throttle body, FITV, etc. So is this the prob if theres NO CEL to speak off? Im goin LMAO

Same thing happened to me when I cleaned out my IACV, similar to you cleaning you FITV. My theory is, and someone will probably correct me, but when I cleaned it a lot of crap came out of it and the screen was covered with dirt. It had probably been running like that for so long that the ecu was keeping the idle valve choked more than needed even though it evened out at idle. So when I cleaned it, the car thought another day another dollar but the air was actually able to flow more freely through the valve it caused the idle to drop. That and the idle probably had never been adjusted. Long story short, adjust your idle screw to spec.

I will be sure to adjust it. I had also cleaned the IACV as well, screens were a mess. Im hoping this is it and she can pass NJ inspection. How do I jump out the 3pin diagnostic plug to make eng lt blink codes? Just wanna see if anything pops up and for sense of knowing incase. I did use the 2pin connector jumped out when I verified base timing. So Im hoping the idle correction is the ticket.

You don't jump the 3 pin, you jump the 2 pin. If the cel light stays solid then you have no codes. Show me a picture of your tach when the car is idled and warmed up.
