Default vtec swap question

I was thinking about swapping out my d15b7 engine for a vtec. It would be cheaper and easier to swap it for a smaller vtec but if im going to spend that much $$ i want to know if it would be better to spend more and get an h22. I've also had people recommend that I just get a turbo kit instead. I just want to get some input from you guys.

Read. H22 will be harder to shoehorn in. B series will be more expensive. K series is badass but let's not go there n00b. D series turbo, well a simple Greddy kit would do. You wouldn't get the potential with a basic kit and a simplistic fuel setup but it would work. Is the engine in good condition?

H22 I recommend you do a search. Also look in hybrid before people get their Flame on.
