Vtec Question....
I just swapped a D16Z in the my EJ2 and after I drive the car hard and after the Vtec engages. I push in the clutch for whatever reason (stop light, car, ect..) my rpms stay around 1500 to 2000 instead of dropping to 850. Is that normal? When I take off again and drive normal and come to a stop light the rpms are normal (at 850)

not normal. spray some throttle body cleaner that is sensor safe into your IACV and see if that clears it up.
