Default vtec going out when check engine light turns on...

everytime i drive my car...after about 30 mins of driving it..my check engine light is gonna turn on (sometimes longer)...when the light goes on...my vtec...doest work.. all i have to do is shut the engine off, and start it again...then itll work again just fine.. its doing the same thing...over and over...after a good 30-1hr driving....my idle is about 500-600 rpm..when the check eninge light turns on, it goes up a little bit..about 700-800 rpm... any clue... do i need a new ECU??? my speedometer doesnt work, its a 99 civic EX with a b20vtec...i got an Si tranny (99-00)got an upgraded p28 for the computer with skunk2 chip...oil level is good...the vtec solenoid should be good, cuz when i reset the computer..itll work again...(i dont know) ...anyone??

should i use a different ECU see if works???

You should read the code instead of resetting the ECU every time.

What you're doing is ignorantly and temporarily fixing a problem.

20 bucks on code 22 just because that has been going around lately. Especially on swaps.

How? How do you have a 99 ex with a 99 Si tranny?

WTF mate.

Get the CEL on, park it with the engine running, and check the code. Do the paper clip trick.

Didn't you already determine it was a code 22?

so you did a B2d?

What's the sense in that, is it a built or boosted d?

What's wrong with an ex tranny?
