vtec engage problem
I have a 16a tuned on neptune it is set to engage vtec at 5100 and rev to 9k also launch control at 4500 so here is my problem the past three days my car has been engaging vtec at 4900 and reving to around 8000 to 8200 launch control is still the same can anyone point me in the direction of why a tune/chipped ecu is doing this thank you for your time.

Re: vtec engage problem
possibly the chip is damaged, my friend has a p28 chipped w/ rev limiter, etc. but few weeks later, the rev limiter doesn't work anyone else got an idea on this?

Yup time to reburn,i picked my nephew up from school one time and when he got into my car it started running like crap.i later found that he had 2 giant magnets in his backpack which he placed next to the ecu, causing it to go crazy.just switch it out and you should be good

hmm.. i have similar issue too my vtec is set 49k, launch control @45k, redlind@85 with checkengine light.. i dont hit vtec untill 54k on my cluster, and launch control comes at 5k... but when i hit 85k my check eng light comes on to shift..so my cluster should be right i assume...but idk?? my tuner said that i should replace my p28 though because my idle air temp is burnt... other than that everything seems cool...my speedometer is good...i guessing it could be my rpm gauge or ecu

Re: vtec engage problem
anymore ideas i mean find it hard to beleive everything else in normail in car and have a bad chip etc. so today i hooked a digital timing light/tach snap on tool and hooked postive and negative to battery and put the clip around the number 1 spark plug wire and as soon as i did this the car started working again at 5100 and so i drove to lunch and went to go home around 430 and boom back to 4900 any ideas could this be a ground problem by chance?
