is the rpm switch providing a ground or 12v?
if it is providing a ground it will not work. the spool valve needs to see 12volts.

you dont ground the spool valve. it is supposed to get 12volts when vtec "kicks in"

the spool valve is already grounded. if you gove the spool valve a ground, it will not work. it needs 12 volts.
