vtec bogs......
-b16a/97' ek hatch-
Today i decided to just screw around and go a lil fast. My vtec engages at 5,500 and goes all the way to 8,400(chipped/tuned) BUT!... when it kicks in, i lose power up top top. Tried it a few times 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and some times the vtec flickers.
The car doesnt throw any codes and i aready checked sensors and hoses. I dont know what it is and its very annoying!
any help please
thanks!

shitty tuning...
5500 is where the b16 should engage at...
are you shure.. that your vtec is even engaging? and its not just timing advance.. and that the p75 is actually converted to vtec...
pop your hood.. unhook the vtak solenoid wire start the car.. see what happens.. see if you throw a check engine light.. then if you dont.. GO DRIVE IT.. see if vtec still engages or not.. or if your hitting timing advance
if you get a cel.. probably just shitty tuning

Re: vtec bogs...... (siregcivic)
the car was dyno tuned(not my car, but the guy who tuned his b16 hatch). He basically burned HIS tuned p30 map onto my ecu. The vtec does engage, i can hear it and everything. It feels as if the car accelerates quicker to 5,500 and soon as vtec engages it kinda just bogs out. You can still hear the vtec but it feels really weak.
