VTEC all the time?
ok dont laugh. i came up on this while i was sleeping. what if I set VTEC at 2,000rpm and also tune it with VAFC for fuel/air profile same as regular vtec. so theoretically, I would have real vtec at 2,000rpm?

That would be a bad Idea. The high lift lobes should actually make less horsepower that low in the RPM range, as it is optimized for creating power in the upper rev range. Also vtec engaged all the time is the same as NON VTEC.. with out electronically controlling the valve timing and lift, you just have an LS with a race cam -that makes **** for power inthe lower 2/3rds of the rpm range. Your car would actually be slower if your vtec switched over at 2000 rpm... unless of coarse it was a vtec-e.. haha

You will lose so much power if its a stock motor it's not even funny. The lowest I have seen vtec set for and actually helped the motor was on a 500 some hp turbo rsx, tuned with hondata. The vtec was set a 3500. I am sure you can find the thread on here if you searched but I have to go to work now. You could also find it on hondata.com.

When I got tuned by Locash Racing, Joe put VTEC at 3500 and everytime he raised it, I would lose peak power. That was a really weird tune. I know that with uberdata you can take the 20 mph check off and then lower the rpm setting for VTEC but my question would be why?

Someone doesn't understand why VTEC engages where it does.

That makes a lot more sense than going down believe it or not. VTEC is set pretty low as it is on N/A Bseries engines, bumping it up 500-1000 rpms probably sees a bit more torque in the least.
Not that Honda's get torque or anything.

Go ahead and do that.
Then, when you engage VTEC at 2000 RPM and your engine falls flat on its face because it's so far out of the torque band for the VTEC cam profile, we can all laugh at you.
