VSS question
Ok here’s my concern. I’ve looked all over google and can’t find an answer. I just swapped a 95 transmission into my 2000 civic 5 speed. Can I put my VSS from my 2000 transmission into the 95. These are both 5 speed. I swapped my motor after blowing it up and didn’t switch transmissions. Now the speedometer isn’t working. So I’m thinking that has to do with the VSS being a 95 into a 2000 car. I’ve looked all over and can find any information on it. Or can some someone confirm that the 95 VSS should work on my 2000 with no problems. I just know if I could swap my 2000 VSS into the 95 transmission all my problems would be solved. Could someone please shine some light on this situation. Thank you.

Re: VSS question
Either sensor would work in the transmission, so it is likely that you have some other issue. The speedo error may be increased slightly if you use the '95 sensor in your '00 Civic... but other than that, it should function.

Re: VSS question
I figured it out. The 95 VsS was bad. After I posted this I seen a video on YouTube of a guy working on a 96 Del Sol and it had the same VSS as the 95 so I went out and swapped the VSS from my 2000 transmission to the 95. Can you tell me the difference between the s20 and s40 transmission
