Vibration at high speed.
I just finished travelling from my town upstate to my university. My car is in great shape, unless it's hiding something. But anytime I go above 85, it starts vibrating, which makes almost every plastic part rattle. As soon as I drop back below 85, it disappears. I have a 94 Civic DX.

Another thing you can check in the mean time is the play in your steering rack.
Jack car up on jackstands.
Pull the wheel left and right, see if there is play
Pull the wheel up and down and see if there is play.
There shouldn't be play.

first off, speeding wasn't really in the question. I think the question was, how to fix this problem when I am going above 85. Second, what exactly am I "asking" for? It really doesn't matter to me what your speeding habits are.

85 is not that bad. I wouldnt do it in traffic, but if the highway is clear, that's not an unsafe speed for a modified honda. For the vibration, I would bet its bent wheel(s)/unbalanced tires.

Thanks for all the anwers guys. I'll look into them. I do think its the unbalanced tires. They have really uneven wear, due to hard driving. I agree, 85 is nothing. In the city I'm in, everyone goes 85. That's the minimum.

Well the wheels and tires will help if you get them balanced and aligned. My friend ahs an 89 accord and his whole LCA assembly fell apart simply because it was old as **** and rusted. You may havea precursor to some rusted parts. While it's lifted, look at it yourself or have the mechanic take a look.

Jesus christ, it's like youve never heard the joke where the patient says to the doctor 'Doctor! It hurts when I do this!' and the doctor says 'Well don't do that!'

Re: Vibration at high speed. (accordselux)
do you have aftermarket wheels?? if so & you don't have hubrings that can cause vibration too.
make sure you get them..they do make a difference...i've experienced rota's with & without hubrings & the ride is so much smoother with them
