Venom Intake manifold + Welded Collant TB, Do I need the IACV...
Ok I have a Venom Intake Manifold that Doesn't have the Mounts for the IACV, I also have a B18c5 Bored out Throttle body that has the collant lines welded shut. When I bought the manifold It came with this thing.
Basicly it hads another set of nipples. ??
Ok so my question is can I get rid of my Idle air control valve. I'm closing in on finishing my project. I mean what do people do when they use ITB's? Or the Sheetmetal intakes??? Please help me and guide me oh-wise ones

for the money I got in it I could of got something better like the love fab, I reworked the whole thing, ported, rewelded, braced had it ceramic coated, cleaned up the Wastegate port.

All a IACV valve does is lets air bypass the TB so that the computer can control the idle. You car WILL not idle right if you do not hook it up or program the IACV out of the ECU. It looks like those two nipples are an adopter plate so you can use it without it mounting to the IM (like stock ones do). All you have to do is run one side of the nipple (via of hose) to before the TB and the other one (via hose) to after the TB.

Re: Venom Intake manifold + Welded Collant TB, Do I need the IACV... (turbogixxer)
im not quite sure what you mean, I thought collant flowed thru the IACV What I did was on the Water tube that rund behind the block, it has 4 Nipples 2 small ones and 2 large ones, On a diagram I saw where they all went. So.. I ran the 2 large nipples together with a 180* hose and clamped it on, and I made another hose to plug the other 2 nipples. Since I have No A/C or heat or the collant half of the TB im just not understanding where I would run the lines from the IACV. please help im very confused and wann get this **** together!!!!

The top two nipples are for coolant lines. NOW, You do not need them because you live in FL. All they do is keep the IACV from freezing (I read this from the actually honda training manual, so if someone tells you I am wrong, punch them in the face ). The bottom two, just do what I said in my first post. If you need me to clear it up, just tell me. I will retype it more clearly (hopely).

yeah what he said, I would try and run it. you can do without depending on what your using for engine management. I would shorten up that turbo oil drain too. it looked awwefuly long. you want to keep a smooth downward line away fromt he turbo. if it sits flat or has to go up you could kill the turdblow.
also I wouldn't have pained the block unless you used a special paint that helps heat transfer then ignore me. by painting it with regular engine paint you reduce the aluminum blocks ability to dissipate heat. not good

You could leave it off and not throw a code, but the idle will be surging. You gotta make a template so you can get vacuum to the iacv. Also it looks like your bracing on the exhaust manifold is not really bracing the turbo.
