Default Variable rate coil springs for front suspension on EGs...

I've been shopping around online for variable rate springs and I have seen a lot of different brands for the rear of my vehicle (93 DX Coupe). I haven't come across any that were variable rate for the front. Do they even make variable rate front springs for EGs? If so, can somebody point me in the direction of an online or brick and mortar retailer?

I was looking on places like advanceautoparts.com, napaautoparts.com and rockauto.com, autozone.com, etc.. Nothing was showing up with the vehicle selection narrowed down to my specific vehicle. I'm guessing because I'm looking for OEM ride height (or something close) springs and everything showing up in the google search is for lowering/racing springs?

As for the thread, I thought the subject line for this one was specific enough to warrant a new one. Feel free to merge with the more generalized one if you want. Sorry if it created extra forum clutter.

Progressive OEM height aftermarket springs? Don't think those exist.

Yea, I figured as much. At least not for the front. The back, yes, but not the front.

Well, here's a question. If I go ahead and grab a set of these aftermarket progressive sport/lowering springs, will they improve the ride quality over OEM? Logically, I'd think if the car was lowered, it would feel even bumpier than it does now.

"Improve" is too subjective a term. Ride quality is a personal issue. No two asses/spines are alike. I still don't know what you are trying to accomplish.

oem is too stiff for you? nothing aftermarket is going to work, at all then.

^ that. its almost impossible to determine what you like or think is "good"

I know a friend of mine that has a lexus that is riding cut springs/oem shocks with 70k, lol...not b/c he's cheap, its b/c he couldn't find a supplier for the car so he paid a car fabricator to cut them and the car rides like your on a cloud. And on the other hand I know a kid with g35 with 3k in suspension work with quality brands that rides like its on blown shocks and cut springs... bouncy, rough, its just awful.

Ive rode in probably a thousand lowered cars since I got into the car scene and Id say overall they've all rode horrible. very rarely does it get any better then oem is (ride quality obviously speaking)

I'm looking to soften up the ride a bit. Maybe the shocks are getting worn and replacing them will help.

Id agree with that one. Change the shocks and see.
