Default Help me out H-T

I just purchased a set of 2001 ITR cams for my B16a. I want to know if it is safe to run with the stock valve springs? Also Does the exhaust side have dual valve springs or is it just the intake? Last, is it safe to run the cams with a stock P28 ECU or will I have to get it chipped to prevent the motor from running lean up top? Thanks for reading and someone please answer these questions, because I really want to slap these cams on already. Thanks!

Well, I don't have answers about the valvesprings, but did you say you are using a STOCK P28 on your B16? If you are, you should have gotten it chipped already to get your motor running better.

Also, if you are using the P28 redline (7400) or if you are even using a stock B16 redline (8200) then you should be ok to use the stock valvesprings until you have the money to upgrade, but don't wait to long to get the new ones. You just won't be using the cams to their full potential. And if you are going to chip the ecu to have a higher redline like the type R (8500) then you definately need to get new valvesprings, either stock ITR or any aftermarket set.

you need valve springs. itr is fine, or portflow inners and outers. i suggest portflow, that way, if you ever upgrade your cams, you'll have enough spring.http://www.portflow.com
