valve cover bolts

Default valve cover bolts

i tryed to take my valve cover of and paint it and the nut on the left front will not come off. any help would be great. its a b series if that matters.

Use a socket, if you stripped it then break out the special tool that removes stripped bolts.

Try sears. Look for bolt extractors or easy outs

try some pipe break it will loosen locked bolts and take off rust.

its not stuck or rusted. it just turns and turns without coming off.

which bolt one of the outside nuts or one of the nuts on the inside?

stripped. in this case try yanking it out with dikes?

if i yank it out, will it mess the stud up and can it be replaced.

If it's not stripped, tighten back down some of the other bolts.

With 3 off and the 4th one all the way tight, it's going to be harder to get off. You should have loosened them all progressively.

If that doesn't work buy some pb blaster or liquid wrench.

yes, you can buy a new stud to replcae it.

You may have over tighten last time and stripe or broke the stud.

remove the whole motor, replace it with a K20, and there will be no need to paint the valve cover, which will then get rid of this problem

i agree with the guy who last posted, jp, i would just do what it akes to get that nut off, and yes you can replace it with a new one. its pretty easy.

ok thanks for everyones help. and i had hard enough time finding a decent gsr so i will have to pass on the h22 lol.

remove all the other bolts and pull up on the valve cover while unscrewing the one stuck nut. chances are the stud is junk and yes it is easily replaced just get it from honda
