Default Valve Adjustment Question

Just wondering...

1. What exactly is a valve adjustment and how often should you have this done?

2. How much does this typically cost?

Ive got a 96 gsr motor bone stock and trying to get a list together of everything I should do to do a full tune up. Want this thing running full potential that it possibly can as it sits for the amount of miles on it!

well, he read a tutorial here on h-t and butchered it. he had the wrong feeler guages, and i do not think he spun the motor over/or went to the wrong cyl when adjusting them. i dunno....

Yeah I had a feeling that was the problem. I remember when I was about to do it the first time, I first stuck the gauges in and none would go and I was like OMGWTF!!!!?!?!! But then realized nothing was at TDC lol. Good thing I didn't loosen anything whew
