Default vacuum leak maybe.. need your guys opinion

my car idles a little jumpy after i replaced the head gasket... but i've think i have a vacuum leak may be behind the intake manifold.. when i take the iacv off its suppose to idle really low, but when i pull the plug off of it, the car automatically turns off and i hear a whisling noise behind the manifold. is this normal or can someone help me pin point this problem. i am thinking i have a vacuum leak.

One way to find out if you got a leak and where to find it is to spray carb cleaner around the engine (in sections). If the engine starts to idle differently, then that's the general area you'll find the leak.

Have fun

The way i check if cars have vaccum leaks is by getting a vacuum pump with gauge from autozone (less then 20 bucks) and hooking a vacuum up to a vac source and see what it runs.
