Default v-tec kicks in?

after i finished my mini-me swap y7/y8 the vtec would kick in 4800-5000 rpm (no joke) the sound of the vtec was loud and nice!
after sitting on the shop for couple moths for the paint job, now the vtec is only loud in 6k or can't hear at all.

what could have happened?

You grew up, after around 17 most people are no longer impressed by 120ish crank HP.

I really like the D motor but unless super built you won't hear/notice vtec after having it for a couple weeks.....

Really? I felt that my old y8 had a louder vtec noise than my B18. The fact being the y8 vtec doesn't do **** like the B18. LOL

cut out your resonator and blow out all the fiberglass in your muffler and it'll be loud again.

my b16 is way louder then my friends D is and his is much more built then mine.

i never had a resonator! that's for pansies. generally, a single cam 1.6 isn't going to be that loud...

unless it was cut out before you bought it, you HAD a resonator at one point or another...it came with the car.

even my d15 had one.

you simply get used to the sound and over time start to ignore it.

edit: neither one of those vids were "loud vtec" the second video is just a loud car
