Using EX automatic harness on EM1?
2000 Honda Civic EM1
b16a2 Engine/Trans/ECU
Stock everything.
As it turns out, the engine harness on my EM1 resto project is the worst hacked job I've seen. There are wires cut, spliced and pretty much fucke'd everywhere I look. So as you would guess, I'm looking for a stock harness. One of my friends reached out and told me he will give me his stock '99 EX automatic engine harness, and said it should work.
My question is, what would I need to do to make it work?
I'm running a stock engine, trans(won't matter) and ecu.
I'm comfortable rewiring my whole harness, but time is impossible to find as it is. So a full removal and redo is out of the question at the moment.
On a side nte - WTB '99-'00 SI harnes
If you got one lmk.

you will atleast have to change out the idle air control pigtail and perhaps one or two other sensors. the auto to 5 speed swap should have more information that you can use about the engine sensors you need to change on the harness
I'll need to look at the wiring schematic for both and see what will need to be added, removed and switched around.
If it turns out to be a big hassle, I'll bite the bullet and get the SI harness from ebay.

Hmmm looking at the 92-00 Wiring Link, it seems like all I will need to do is rewire my IACV from a 3pin connector, to a 2 pin one. Other than that, it seems like its all good to go.
I need to double check, but considering the car will use the stock 5spd. ecu, it shouldn't look for anything related to the automatic transmission. As long as those wires are pinned to the non-used pins on the original SI harness connectors, I think I'll be okay.

You'll need to repin the distributor plug, iacv, ckf and run the reverse light plug because there isn't one. I believe thats about it.
**** all in all, it seems like this will save me $350 or the headache of redoing my whole one. Nice!
Since the harness is not on the car I'd clear out anything automatic related and make sure the harness you buy is indeed the ex 99-00 harness or else you'll run into issues.
