I have 2000 4-dr LX automatic USDM . I found a 1995 4dr EX JDM body. Will there be much trouble with 2000- motor/trans USDM-LX installed into the 1995 JDM EX. Both did come with a 1.6 Im guessing the JDM being a 4-dr would be an automatic but not sure.And I know there are a lot of other factors here. Any info plz

What ECU do you plan to use?

OK im in unchartered waters here -and im guessing whitch computer here-yes?-so wont I have to put the USDM one in the JDM?

What USDM computer/ECU will you choose? D16Y7 engine, right? Manual transmission in the 95 Civic?

The passenger side transmission mount bracket on the body is physically different, you need to know if you have an automatic or manual chassis before you start planning this.

Plz excuse my ignorance here-cause I don't know what/which to do-was hoping just to pull motor /trans out of the 2000 USDM and put in the 1995 JDM- like just a bolt in plug up job- but that's not that simple is it?

What ecu were you planning on using for this swap? What ecu is currently in the car now?

I have the one in the USDM- I don't know bout the JDM or if its a auto or manuel trans- so do I just put the computer out of USDM into the JDM

Find out exactly what engine/trans you're swapping and what's currently in the 95 Civic.

Post the information you gather. Otherwise, this is a guessing game rather than a tech thread.

Since this is an automatic swap, I suggest you look really deep. The auto swap from an obd2 works differently from obd1.

Alllllso, the OP is stating the car is "JDM" .... but I suspect it's not. It's just a car that was built in Japan for the North American market, not a right-hand drive Japanese domestic model.
