Default Upper radiator hose problem

i already searched. found inconclusive answers. i have a b18c swap in my eg with a stock radiator. there is a leak on the radiator side because the hose i have right now is bigger than the opening and it's just held down my clamps. i read that u can use a 99-00 si or del sol vtec upper radiator hose? im not sure, so can someone please confirm? which hose will fit correctly so that i don't have to cut?

theres nothing wrong with cutting it, but if u want an accurate factory fit ive heard the upper hose from a vtec delsol (with the B16 not D16) will fit

did you try using a tighter clamp first.
Usually the clamp that originally was used for the d series motor won't hold.

how dont see how that would affect anything? aren't clamps just clamps?

if the hose is really that loose- then dont tighten it anymore-it will cause a little crimp around the edge and eventually leak. Plus the fittings are copper and aluminum and there not ment to hold a lot of tightening force

Well in my experiance of swaping b-series motors into civics I've used the screw type clamp for the hoses. The reason being that the spring type clamp has a diameter meant for the d-series hose onto the d-series nipple. By using the screw type you have more clamping ability. In other words getting the hose tighter onto the d-series radiator.

Another method used is converting to a full size radiator from the integra.
By doing this you will have the appropiate nipple size on the radiator to pair up with the hose.

get the screw type, they'll last for a long time</TD></TR></TABLE>

i believe im using the screw type, and it's still leaking. i guess from what Slamaccord is saying, i think ill just buy an integra radiator.

now for the integra radiator, would i need any extra mouting brackets or would it just be plug and play type?

here is what i did i cut a small section of origanal hose to fit over neck then slide larger hose over it put screw type clamp on and it works great no leaks.you may need to use a little vasiline to get it to slide on easier. you can buy sleeves made for this but i couldnt find any locally

he has a b18c the bend on the upper radiator hose is different from a b16.

for your application just use a gsr upper radiator hose and buy some hose clamps at a auto part store and that should secure it onto the radiator neck. just dont tighten to hard cause it is plastic
