Hey so I just picked up a 95 CX last night and noticed that theres a up arrow on the cluster that lights up and turns off once in a while. Any ideas? I didnt have it on my last hatch

I don't have that on my 92 si but maybe it's an up shift light ?

Shift light for best fuel mileage, think it was only available on CX/VX

Shift light. I think CX is the only trim that had it. Not even VX.

My 94 vx has it. AFIK it is controlled by the ecu.

Friend of mine picked up a VX years back cheap. I swear it had a shift light in it but I can't remember for sure. Pretty sure it did though..or maybe I was smoking something

shift light, i would assume it works off the tach or dizzy signal since you can swap it into other cars and it works?

i believe it's in the ecu.. my buddy's 96 HX also has one

my 93 vx had it, but it never worked. could have been due to the dizzy being f'ed up the whole time i owned the car. who knows.

After my car was stolen and stripped in 2005. I got my hands on two EG clusters for cheap. One was an EX D16Z6 auto cluster and the other was a cluster that redlined at 6,000RPMs and has the shift light. With the cluster in my EX the shift light never worked. I assume whatever gives the light the signal, etc isn't in the trims except the ones with the light from the factory.

i have the same 6000 rpm redline with the shiftlight, ive had it in both a 92 cx and a 95 dx and the shift light never worked.

it would only make sense to b a shift lite lol, and my buddys 4dr has one on his cluster, he got it from some kid down the rd it's in kms too

could be a man-up light. for when there's a hot chick in proximity to hit on...

or when your car wants you to upgrade something on it.

or when one of your passengers says something stupid, like a shuddup light.

or when you make a wrong turn, and it points the way you shoulda gone. wait that doesn't make sense.

or a smoke weed light, like blaze it up.

or any number of other things.... the possibilities are endless dude. i can't solve life's problems for you.
