o2 sensors wont work now please read and help...
well now im getting angry, i put in the o2 sensors shrink tubed that thing then taped it up real good! So i cleared the codes and then i started the car and the light came rite back on!!! So i went to autozone to get my codes read and they tell me low voltage again and im think how could this be and he said maybe the air fuel gauge so i cut the wire to it reset the codes again. Everything was going good for about a day then the damn light came back on. I have yet to make it over to get the codes taken off the car... But honestly what could this be it is both o2 sensors that have low voltage. can someone please help my gas millage SUCKS and i cant fix this problem. Also my other question is are they linked together at all, like all tied into one harness?

When you buy the universal 4-wire O2 sensors, there will be a set of instructions either in the box or on the box telling you what each wire is. Most likely the 2 same color wires are both the heater wires (aka, the black wires on an OEM O2 sensor), the black wire is the ground (aka, the green wire), and the grey wire is the signal wire (aka, white wire), just like on the Bosh 4-wire O2 sensor.

that is exacly how i connected it and it did not come with instructions, does it matter how the black ones are connected to the white wires?

im going to sound like an idiot for asking this and im sure someone will say it but with the air fuel gauge connected that is not taking power away from the signal to the computer would it because i did not have this problem till i put the gauge in.

You will probably get an o2 heater code with a universal sensor. The heater circuit resistance is different than most cars.
Yes the afr gauge changes the voltage slightly.

Since its useless anyway, get rid of the afr gauge - you'll eliminate that variable for sure.
Did you solder your connections when you installed it? If no, then thats another variable that could be contributing to the code as not everyone who installs one of these gauges ends up with an O2 code.
You may want to pony up and get a Denso Direc-Fit, or some OEM equivalent that already has the connector attatched. These universal O2's seem to cause more problems then they solve...

no i used shrink tube, the only reason i bought this o2 sensor was because my friend bought the same one and he had no problems....so a lot of people have had codes thrown after they put the af gauge in?

Ok: #1: Solder your connections! You may be throwing a code because the voltage flucuates slightly because of a bad or improper connection. Trust me I learned after a week of resetting my ecu because of a reaccuring code 63.
#2: A/F ratio gauges are useless with a stock narrowband o2 sensor.

Buy OEM or get ones that plug directly into the oem plugs....My o2 went bad and I bought a 60$ replacement off ebay that plugged in like factory code went away....I never had depleted gas mileage tho

Re: o2 sensors wont work now please read and help... (Slow_CvC99)
my mpg is like average of 20 and i have a sohc d16y8...Its crazy how low it is. I want to do cam work and other things with the car but i want this check engine light gone before i go messing with other things. OEM sensors are like 250$ a sensor im sorry but i have a problem pushing out 500$ on 2 sensors. if i cut the wire to the a/f gauge rite were the gauge is so current is still running though the wire that doesnt make a deal, i mean that wont trow a low voltage signal will it?

Not i. I just replaced my oem primary o2 sensor with a universal bosch from autozone for $62 a couple days ago and no code.
I didnt use their crimping clips (mainly because i stripped the wires before putting it on and it was impossible), I just stripped and soldered the wires, wrapped each solder with electrical tape once and then wrapped the whole bundle together a few times and it works fine.

Cant hurt, but also try tracing the wires a little farther up the line to make sure none of them are chaffed or frayed
