ugly reflector in 96-98 honda civic headlights
hey guys does anyone know if you can just take the reflectors out? or will i be better off buying a set of headlights without them? because i hate the look of em looks crappy n all so if anyone can help me let me know please thx

YES you CAN...youhave to bake the headlights...and open them up....then take a phillips srewdriver and unscrew the amber strip, and take it out...if you really want to!!

You can also put a piece of window tint you get at kmart or something on them when you take them out. I did that with mine when I was doing my diy black housing headlights, came out pretty good.

no way yO that little amber strip is jDm tight yO!! haha, naw, just bake 'em and pop the headlight open and get it out, good luck

Dont take the reflector out. It leaves screw holes, and a 'mold' of where it was. I once saw someone paint the back of the amber insert flat black. It was still amber and reflective, but it was very low key. It looked great. Plus, in Cali you need a reflector.

mmm well ill do it anyway. it looks good to me Geeky_Gambit33s came out super sexy. so what temp should i use when i put them in the oven? and how long??? and does anyone know a way to get rid of scratches on the lenses? also has anyone tried like a glossy black? or will flat black look better over all?

Use duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint. Here is mine. Woops mine still have the reflector. Oh yeah and mine are 99-00. You should scuff the reflector and paint it, itself.

i put mine in the oven for like 5 mins and on like 150 degrees just enough to soften up the glue. As for the scratches you can buy some polishing compound to buff them out. There was just a thread about that a couple days ago, i just cant find it at the moment
