ok i have a question im saving up to do my first swap in my EK 4door i was going to go b20 because i dont think my motor will last long but it seems to be holding up really good i was going to save up and go k but my car will be daily and k swaps doesnt pass emissions so i went to a shop and they said they did a typer swap for 6000 i was thinking of doing that all i have to do is drop my car of they will get all the parts,engine and convert the car to manuel and do the labor is this a good deal i was think it was a great deal but some ppl was saying it was to much

if youre in cali a b20 wouldn't of passed emissions either. how does a k not pass emissions?

did they say they'd do the auto/man swap plus a b18c5 swap for 6k? because that isn't bad at all. but i'd definitely ask where they're getting the motor.

yea they said that they doing the auto/Manuel and b18 c5 swap i dont need to provided anything but the car its a really good shop alot of there cars have been in magazines and they have been n PINKS on the speed channel

I had a hard time reading that post, so this is just a guess. They are going to supply the swap, and everything needed to convert it to a 5spd, and do the labor?

I could see 6k for that.

Not worth it at all. You can pick up a complete b18c5 swap for 4k. So they are charging you 2k for labor. TOO much

No I saw that, you can pick up all of the 5 speed conversion parts cheap from a junkyard, I know because I did it to my DB. All you need is pedal assembly with clutch master, clutch line, slave cylinder and mount. I paid $100 shipped for my mount and $150 for everything else from the junkyard. With the motor out it took 30 mins to have everything in for the 5 speed.

OP, find all of the parts yourself, find someone local who knows about swaps, pay them $300-$400 and help them do the swap. You will learn somethings and someone will make some extra money for a job that shouldn't take but more then 12 hours and save yourself $1k+

Not a bad deal, and it can be smogged in CA if you BAR it. I'd try to get em down to $5500.

i was thinking it was a good deal my only problem is its my daily and i need it running and im not to sure how reliable my car would run if i have someone else do it i just need the swap every thing else i can do on my own like exhaust headers simple stuff i know a few people that did there own swaps but when i contact them few weeks or month later they say there car not working i dont want that problem i know that it takes alot of money to do it right so im not really stressing on the price i plan on keeping this car plus its my first car and only for now
