Id definately advocate the turbo sohc!! If your looking for about 170 whp or so (which will be PLENTY for the street no matter what anyone on here says) go for it!! Turbo SOHC is cool with me!!

well now its a d16y7 SOHC automatic, next mod is the transmission swap, then internals for forced air induction and finally the turbo kit. Its a 2k 4dr and has the si look all done just wanna work on power, b/c im already done w/ the looks.

if you have the money, it might be better to get a swap, but if you want power for only a few hundred $, then turbo is the way to go. obviosly you can get more power out of a turbo for way cheaper than a swap, and bolt ons, but the power will only go so far. d16y7's are good for decent power handeling, but if you are going to go above 200hp, i would get a swap(yes I know they can handle around 225 before the rods break, but I wouldnt take the chance)

I personally love the sound of a loud BOV, but if it does make that sound ya better be able to back it up! I personally don't care for nitrous, but it is the cheapest bang for the buck and it is pretty stealth! Just don't overdue it with your stock internals!

i got the same engine, boost that bitch, automatic is great for a turbo, just make sure if you boost over 5 to 6 psi, u build up that tranny, with a tranny cooler, and a torque converter (level10 makes a great one)

More Turbo 2000 Honda Civic DX's Automatics, I thought i was the only person moding my slow engine honda gave me. Good **** man.

CAn't wait, By the end of the month ill have it in... ill let everyone know how the y7 runs on 10psi, with street tires just as soon as i get the damn thing in SOHC powa!!!!!

oh yeah i have a 4door dx.... and its lighter than a ex coupe... so think of the possibilites

go for it, but only if you want to do it right. get a decent to smalish turbo for quicker spool up instead of top speed. run a relatively low boost level 7-9 psi max. once again you need to spend the money to do this right, no halfway bull'ish here. if it's a street only car about 170-190 ponies should be enough for you unless you love tickets and you can easily attain that with money and patience. check the archives for TONS of posts about SOHC turbos. peace!
