Default Turbo/Super Question

Soon i will be dropping a b16a2 in to my 97 Civic EX... I wanted to see what you thought would be better to get for it, a Turbo Charger or Super... Money is kind of an issue cause college likes to drain me of it... Also what will require me to upgrade more of the internals... let me know what you think, in sure this wasn't the first time its been asked. Thanks

Oh yeah its more daily driving around and enjoying that more than racing.

Turbo's are cheaper.

How mechanically inclined are you? You could make a kit yourself for around $1500 for everything.

To answer your question, turbo is better for almost every Honda engine. The minute power that they have is not enough to turn a mini supercharger. Turbo is the way to go and you won't have to upgrade the internals unless you want to boost like crazy. Same goes for a supercharger. But like I said, turbo is the way to go on a Honda engine. </TD></TR></TABLE>

God I hope you're joking.

If school is draining your wallet then i suggest not doing anything serious to the car until school is out. When you got a fast car you can get tickets fast

Brad no Honda motor was made to be turboed except for Honda Bikes and Jet ski's. People just boost Honda's and for some reason they work without blowing up (sometimes )

Do some research on turbocharging basics and then just piece together your own kit using a small turbo. That way, you will enjoy it more for daily driving since it will have less lag than a larger turbo. You said you want something good for daily driving and not so much racing, so therefore you want some low-end power. Superchargers will give you good low-end power but for the cost, it would just be cheaper to go turbo.

Where are you at in MI? I live in Lake Orion if you are anywhere close by. Oh, and turbo. That's what I am going to do in the spring. Nether of them require internal mods unless you are beating the crap out of the motor or boosting above stock (turbo) psi. I can't wait for mine !!

you would be suprised.

Turbo gets an A from me. Eats supercharged cars even if it's running a lower boost.

Supercharger is nice thru the first gear, feel the torque, but then later on it feels like ****.
