TURBO SMOKING! HELP
i got a turbo civic hatch and i just recently it started to have white smoke coming from the turbine. i can see wet spots around it. Also my cooling fan doesn't turn on anymore and my radiator overflow tank was boiling a couple days ago. i begin to think its a blown head gasket.. Im not sure. Please let me know.

Re: TURBO SMOKING! HELP
My thoughts are blown head gasket due to coolant bubbling, and white smoke. If your turbo is smoking, I would assume water is mixing with oil, too. But I am not 100% on that last part.
Jump the fan switch on the thermostat housing to see if the fan comes on. If it comes on when jumped, the fan switch is most likely dead.
Blown head gasket due to head lift under boost? Do you have aftermarket head studs installed? If not, I would recommend ARPs. Either that or I will guess the fan didn't come on when needed, thus overheating the motor and blowing the head gasket.

O god... you got it for free? You probably have no idea what you just got yourself into.
Start researching anything and everything there is about your car and the swap and the turbo set-up. It is now starting to sound like the the previous trashed the car/motor.
Google anything you do not know prior to posting. It'll save you time.

Re: TURBO SMOKING! HELP
Replace the Head gasket, check the head for levelness, install ARP head studs, replace tstat, replace oil and filter. Bleed coolant system properly and see where that takes you.
That's about the only advice I can offer at this time, with the exception of just going over everything thing on the car to make sure it is good to go.
