Default blown head gasket??

Today I was at drivethru sitting for a while and car started to overheat and coolant was bubbling and leaking from reserve tank. There are no other symptoms of blown head gasket no white smoke or oil in coolant or vice versa. I checked and radiator fan doesn't seem to be working either. Would this be a blown head gasket or was this cause from fan not working. When normal freeway driving car does not over heat.

would I know if it was the head gasket from performance. The car still accelerates very well and like I said doesn't overheat on freeway. I guess I am going to try to get fan running first which should help. I just want to make sure it is not head gasket so I don't mess anything up worse.

you need to know why the fan isn't comming on in the 1st place. this is probly your problem.

either it be wirring, or the acutal fan thermo switch on the head.

changing your thermostat at the upper radiator hose wouldn't be a bad time to change either.

It sounds like boiling coolant and not a headgasket (at least not yet). Get that fan fixed pronto.

Just put a switch on the fan for now... You don't want the car to idle for very long without teh fan.

Fixed it. I feel dumb. After searching found there were 2 fuses I had only checked the one under the hood. Turns out the one under the dash I had not checked was blown. Now right before temp gauge hits half fan comes on. Hopefully this ends my overheating in traffic/drivethrus. Thanks for all the help guys.
