If you're gonna choose the b16b, then stay n/a. If you want to go boosted, I would suggest stepping up to either an LS or GSR motor. Or stay single cam turbo. Just my suggestions though. Do what you want. good luck

What do you mean by "Spoon" it?

Do you have a B16B, or is this a hypothetical situation?

Anyways the B16B has the best rod/stroke ratio of any honda engine, so technically it'd be bad-*** for boost even though you'd bascially ruin the awesome build by tearing it apart for a turbo build.

You *can* boost it on the stock Cr ratio, but you'd be boosting pretty low and it'd have to be tuned really good with some sort of good engine management.

For all motor you can pop in a B18C5/ITR crank and rods and have yourself a bad-*** 1.8L better-than-Integra-Type R engine.

All the B16B is is a destroked Integra Type R engine with higher CR pistons and a better intake camshaft.

If nobody has a turbo'd civic in Scotland then how do you plan on having it tuned then?

Is there anyone in your area with a wideband o2 sensor and/or a dyno so you can properly tune it, because if not then I'd stay far away from turbocharging a B16B.

Tom's got a really good point. If no one has one, then there probably aren't many people, if any, who are equipped and/or knowledgeable enough to install/tune a turbo on a b16. Not to mention the potential for disaster with an untuned/improperly tuned turbo setup. Plus with an N/A build you'll have IMO, lots less to worry about.

i wouldnt turbo the b16b its already built and designed for NA. If you want more power you have alot of choises. You can change out the lower end with the b18c5.
Other things are header, exhaust, FAC. you got alot to play with depending on how much you can $$$. I would go with the spoon stroker kit and not turbo.

well my mate has his itr turbo but not set up and has bout 300bhp runs mid 12s but thats like re-sleeved piston conrods everything.almost 10000 pounds hes spent(its more expensive for parts here so thats y it cost so much for 300bhp but hes gettin bigger turbo and goin big power like 500+)

theres ppl that tune turbos cars but just not b16b civics, not think they will be able to tune it .

someone has turboed the d serious engine but not sure wat one 1.6 i think.

iam not sure if spoon will be fast enough in a years time and theres not much else u can do after ,if u no wat i mean.

if i go turbo and its not fast enough i can get pistons etc and turn boost up .

thanks for replys , would be grateful for more info thanks

Do not turbo your B16B, you will blow it up! Do not waste your money on spoon products. SEARCH is your new best friend. Now go play with him.

i agree with mad sohc...turbo charging a b16b would probably not be your best bet. i mean sure you will have alot of power, but the compression and the pistons of a ctr are not that great for turbos. keep it all motor. if you built a b16b, then you would have a sweet *** motor and it would be WAY more reliable too. just because noone has a boosted civic there doesnt mean that you should boost your ctr motor and blow it all to hell. if you want boost, then get an LS or GSR motor.

one more thing...if you are talking about more power down the road, getting a turbo for your ctr would make you NOT HAVE a motor later on down the road. odds are you are gonna **** something up...all motor is the **** anyways.
