Default trouble with the str throttle body

i have a 2000 civic si and i just bought a STR throttle body and i still have the stock intake manifold for right now, but now my car idles at 2500 rpm i already changed the tps sensor and the map sensor and i adjusted the screw on the throttle body and tightened up the cable. I am at a loss now, does anyone else know what might be the problem.
thanks,
wamp

check the TB gasket.

Run the car, spray some carb cleaner around it in light amounts and see if the rpms don't raise a little.....if it does, take the TB off and see where the gasket is wet.

You may be able to just put some gasket sealer on it let it dry per the directions and see if that fixes your idle problems.

bump for my friend since he no longer has access to the internet...

he replaced the str gasget with the stock gasget and still is having the same problem

the cables and the butterfly have complete room to open and close like they should so there is no issue with that and i personally can't think of a reason why it would be doing this.

any help is appreciated i'll will be comunicating with jwamp over the phone updating him with anything you guys might think would help or resolve the issue

might want to inspect the tb if its getting a little stuck open at idle and double check
the cable linkage incase you might of overtighten to where it gives high idle upon engine start.

like Humble1 said the cable to the TB might be to tight and your butterfly may be opened just a tad to much

i run a 68mm str tb as well. no problems here. try starting with the throttle cable off... that'll eliminate the possibility of the cable being too tight slightly opening the tb... tps adjusted accurate?? is it just idling high? no surging?

Try not using the gasket and just use honda bond.. A very light coat of honda bond did the trick on the one that one of my customers had. Hope this helps.

the main problem is that the car idles at 2500-3000, the tps is brand new

doesn't matter if the tps is brand new or 10 years old... if it's not calibrated, idle will surge...

there's no IACV on OBD2 vehicles are there? does it rev up like normal? check the spark plugs and plugs going to the dizzy. they could be in the wrong order. that happened to me and i idled around the same rpm.

he never said his idle surges did he?

true that... he never stated that his idle surges... changing a throttle body and then having the idle at 2500 rpm sounds just like a vaccum leak and when there are, they surge. but sure... and yes obd2 vehicles do have iacv. try unplugging the iacv when it's up at 2500 rpm. if your engine dies or idle drops, your iacv's good.

there is no idle surging, when the car starts up, it idles normal, after it warms up, clutch is disengaged and in neutral, the idles goes up to 2800-3000, it doesn't surge,

shouldn't be a vaccum leak then... nor tps... nor iacv... how about the throttle body pulley stop screw? is that screw turned in keeping your tb partially open? throttle cable too tight? can't think of anything else. er????
