Default trippy brake lights

Wats up guys I got a 97 ej8 and the brake lights are wierd. All lights work tail, reverse, turn, and brake but the problem is that I have one brake light on the trunk and one on the car itself. First im new to this car so kdk of all are suppose to light up when you hit the brake like the eg do or just the two on the car. If just the two on the car why only one on car and why does the trunk one even light up. Wires running to the lights look ok but im not sure. Thanks for any info

Found out that all 4 lights are suppose to light up when I hit brakes. Im gonna try new bulbs. Reason being is im replacing them all with leds anyway. I didnt think it could be bulb becuz they work when park lights are on. Just when you hit brakes only 2 brighten up like they are suppose to not all 4 like it really suppose to

The "bright" filament is probably blown replace all 4 bulbs and it should fix the problem.

You need to be careful when replacing the 1157 bulb with an LED one. They don't light up as noticeable as the stock bulbs. It's actually very dangerous because the person behind you can't tell if you're braking. I've only seen very expensive sets (about $100 pair) make a difference.
