How do you know when these are going out?

synchros are they LAST item to cause gear grinding.

I've only ever replaced 4 synchros, three of them were mine.

take tranny apart and measure the backspacing.

if your it pops out of gear.. thats when you know your synchros are gone.

alot of times its actually the sleeve set that needs tweaking/filing or replaced of your grinding. You'll know for sure once you open her up and look tho.


On a side note.
If your getting copper in your tranny fluid its most likley syncros but you could have a fucked bearing tho. If its a bearing you'll have stainless in the fluid along with the copper. (needless to say you'll have problems with the tranny if its a bearing)
