Tranny Trouble
I've got a 00 Si stock B16A2. . .when i shift into 2nd, the clutch will pop out, and grind. I dont kno if its the clutch thats going, or the tranny???? not sure im puzzled, and new to all this. Any ideas of what it could be, and if it is the tranny what are my best options, i dont want to sell the car, and if it is the tranny i will have the money to fix it, thinking about a type R but not sure.
ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM????
thanks

Re: (Bense)
one when im racing, which is like 2 times a week, i bought it with 50,000 miles on it and now i got 71,000 on it. it feels like it could b the tranny, not sure thinking about either a B16B type R, or a brand new B16A2 SiR II OBD2. . .**** sucks, but ill find out whats wrong with it for sure today, going down to the dealership and haven em do a complete diagnostic of the car to see whats wrong, once i find out for sure ill get back to u n u lemme kno whats best for the car.
thanks

Go Tigers!
due to the high rpm drop from first to second gear on a b16 transmission.
35% drop from 1-2
you know, like rev to 8000 in 1st gear, shift to 2nd gear, rpms fall to ~5213 it puts lots of stress on the synchros.
I am going to have the same issue when I take my civic ex tranny to 9000rpm and then try shifting into 2nd gear. Fortunately for you, there is an aftermarket 1st gear that's a little bit taller that brings the 1-2 gap a little closer to help avoid this problem, mfactory seels a 3.0777 gear. The only solution is to try using that gear or not shift so fast
