For all the b series tranny gurus... Hoping I can fix my tranny instead of buying a new one
Set-up consist of this: 92' VX hatch, 94' LS motor, 00' LS tranny, sprung 6 puck(I got it for $30 bucks and it was brand new), everything else is stock that pertains to this matter.
My tranny at first started to grind at high rpms in 5th gear. Then it stopped doing that and started to pop out of 2nd and 4th gear every time I down shifted into those two gears. It got really cold out and my shift linkage felt like the bushing were froze cause it got hard to shift. I pushed hard on the shifter back and forth when it was in neutral and it freed it up. I was then normal driving it for about an hour after I did that. When I shifted it into 4th and let out of the clutch the car just revved.
I thought the clutch finally blew out. After tearing the tranny out and looking at the clutch it was worn down but not enough to not move like the car was doing. My buddy who got me into Honda's convinced me to just put my other clutch in and it should fix the problem. When I shifted the tranny while it was out of the car it seemed fine. But when I put the new clutch and throwout bearing in it and put the tranny back in. It still won't move. The axles are in right and everything. I don't know what is wrong with it. My father passed away three weeks ago so money is tight for me right now. I can get a b16 tranny off my cousin for $40. It has a blown out diff and a cracked case but the gears and shift fork are fine and it didn't grind at all. So if I have to do something to the inside of my tranny I'm gonna put the B16 internals in it anyway.
I have no car since my tranny decided to expletive up. I can't drive my dad's '69 Camaro cause the weather is bad around here, it doesn't have a wiper motor, it has ET Streets on it, and it sucks gas due to having a high stahl convertor, 4.10 gears, and a 468. Any help/ideas will be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has a hydro b series tranny for less than $400 that lives around PA, MD, WV, V, let me know.

The popping out sounds like bent shift forks. I'm not sure on the interchangeability of B16 and B18 transmissions though.
Best bet would be to either find one you know is in good shape, or try and re-build the one you have. If you can't swap parts from the B16 tranny then you might end up spending a pretty penny rebuilding the B18.

Cant you find someone with a used trans while you figure out whats wrong with yours? If trans is out of car right now, why dont you take the gear side of the case apart and see whats wrong inside.
