Default Tranny swap in 97 sol w/d16y8...need a P2P ECU...right?

Going from auto to manual and need a manual ECU. If memory serves me right, I need a P2P with the last three of 000, 001, 002, 003, A00, A01, or A03. Is this correct? Would I be better going obd-1 (P28) for any reason?
