Well, I did the unthinkable and put in an E-Gay short shifter... And as is to be expected i now have no synchro left for second gear. I pretty much have to double clutch to get in second gear at all, and any time i let off the throttle then it will slip out to neutral. From what me and my friends have figured out it seems like the gears are not fully engaging and the synchros are all that is turning the tranny. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these piece of **** short shifters and what happens, what damage is done, what i can expect to happen and how long before it happens. I am building an LS/Vtec so i would rather not do a tranny swap, but i won't have everything i need for the motor swap for at least six-months to a year.

Any help would be sweet.

check to see if you shiftlinkage is bad, and just replace the shifter, and get some new bushings as well.
