Tranny problems
Hey guys, I'm new here and need your help
Got a '97 civic ex (115miles) and 6 months got my tranny rebuilt. Two ball bearings on the mainshaft have been replaced. Now same crap came back, noisy at iddle and noise in first 3 gears. Same as before. Not only that, it pops out of second which means forks are cooked and whatever else I manage to destroy. Anyway I have to replace ball bearings again, I know I beat on my car quite often and it's driven daily, but 6 months for bearings ??????? something I should know before I take this tranny out? also I am interested if any of you have a 5spd for sale
Thanks in advance

Re: Tranny problems (6.5inCivic)
sounds like a countershaft bearing is toast. They should have been replaced when the 2 mainshaft bearings where replaced.
Shifter forks will NOT cause tranny to pop out of gear, but forcing it to stay in gear will destroy a shifter fork in less than 20 miles.
Also 96+ trannys got the better STEEL shifter forks that won't break.
