Tranny housing has a hole.
When i had my turbo installed the mother ****** who made the manifold and DP came in with some fitment issues and decided it would be a good idea to just sand down the tranny housing until the turbo could fit. I never noticed this until a few days ago when i was doing a oil change.
I came across this :
SOrry for the size, i dont have anything on this computer to scale it down, the hole is right up where the engine mates up with the tranny, you can see the engine code right there, use it for position reference.
I was told that with the position of the whole it was no problem and that it would still work properly, that i should just have it welded shut. Is this true? If not, what the hell am i going to do?
TIA

If it's just over the clutch bell housing grab a small piece of sheet metal and JB weld it over the hole. Or some duct tape, just to keep dust and crap out of there.

lol you have to do what you have to do, it's just the bell housing, no biggie. just call it any extra air vent for your clutch, lol, I wouldn't do ****, nothing will happen. that's what happens when you don't buy the right ****. next time make sure that **** fit's before you buy it

the hole there shouldnt hurt anything as long as stuff isnt getting inside there. that is still kind of gay that they did that, and didnt inform you of it.

Thanx for the replies, the hole wasnt made by them, i think that there was just such a thin layer of metal left that heat from the turbo melted it.
Im a hell lot more relaxed now . I think i just might weld it shut. And the turbo is getting relocated, BY SOME ELSE.

In many cases I have cut holes in the transmission case. It is not a big deal and should not be a problem. In many cases I have cut the holes for cooling or to lighten the case. I have been building tranmission for about 20 years.. you should have no problem with it.

and now you know why I do everything myself. When other people do things to your car they do them under their standards. not yours.

So true, i decided to take the oportunity to get a better setup, my current turbo is in OK conditions and i dont spool until 4700 rpms. Il be looking for a smaller turbo and better done manifold + DP so i dont have this kind of issues. And I just talked to the guy, im getting 300 dollars for damages

The sanded it down and so the layer there was thinned. And his turbo heated up the thin layer so bad that it melted a hole in the housing.
Or so he claims.

Yup, what can i say, this country sucks, its very hard to come across people that do such specific jobs, and when you do, dont expect them to actually know to much. I do as much as i can my self.

nice job guys
look like tranny is still fine becaust it looks like just a bellhousing that you went thru. Just get it welded up
But don't you think that you will boil the clutch fluid with a turbo so damn close to it?
