just a thought, but hopefully not the case but, something could have dropped in with the t-belt and got hung and caused it to snap

I dont think that your vavles are safe. If you heard something loud that was probably a valve getting smacked. thats the worst and most likley thing to happen from a broken timing belt.

that makes no sense if you weren't driving it.. your okay...
So if you have your car on, the valves are moving up and down?

are any of u honda techs?
if it is a std trans and u are driving the car when the timming belt breaks the bottom end keeps turning thats what bends the valves. if u are not driving the car and the timming belt breaks the bottom end stops in its place, which almost never bends the valves. i have seen many timming belts break. if its a auto it almost never beds the valves. same as not driving the car when the belt breaks.

Most retarded sentence ever.

Here is the decent answer.

The timing belt will not stop the bottom end in its place if you are just siting there. All the parts of the motor are turning if the engine is running.

And it doesnt matter what the tranny is.

Easiest solution, buy a new motor. How much are Y8 motors, like 500 bucks tops. (I am sorry if this is wrong, I am a B-series guy).

i once 4 years ago had a coupe with a single cam vtec d16z6 in it and i was driving it on the freeway and my car dies so i popped the clutch nothing.. pulled over. tried starting it nothing.. checked for spark no spark.. ripped the timing cover off and timing belt was gone...

and i didnt bend any valves.. i might have been lucky.. but i honestly dont think that the d16z6's have enough dome on the piston for a valve to hit if its stock ( meaning the head hasnt been shaved or anything )
