Total Engine Swap Cost?
I am going to do an engine swap this summer, and was wondering what the total cost would be. The engine is a B18c5 and it costs $4800. What else would I need? I need the TOTAL cost.

what car is it going into?
what consists of the $4800? (motor, tranny, ecu, wiring, etc)

o holy ****....
from what i've seen....jdm motors don't have a number after the last letter
for instance B16A2.....jdm just says B16A......and on h22a1 or h22a4 JDM says H22A
my assumption is type r would just say B18C with red valve cover and different intake manifold. i know u all aren't dumb just clarifyin that ****.

who is doing the labor on the motor swap?? things you will need to consider when doing the swap is extra parts you man need.. for instance its a hella of a lot easier to replace the clutch w/ the engine out, as well as the throttle body.. if your doing the labor your going to need to rent an engine hoist $300-350 at trak auto, and jack stands (dunno maybe $50 but you can buy these cause you can use them other times also) to support the car.. also you might run into problems w/ certain hoses ie radiator, gas lines, etc needing to be replaced and extended.. you might also need some custom exhaust work done so the headers reach the cat.. email me or IM ive done a couple swaps of my friends in the last 2 months and have learned a lot if your looking for some advice or help diong it..

I have seen swaps cost around 5500 with engine. B18C1's!!!!
Might as well get a clutch
Might as well get an intake
Might as well get an exhaust
Might as well get a header
Might as well switch to OBD 1
Might as well get my ecu chipped.
argghh...you could have a swap come out to easily over $6500 if you run an ITR motor.

You need to ask youself is the b18c5 worth the added cost over a b18c? I would say the cost of a b18c is worth it over a b16a, but I am not sure with the other two.
Plus, how can we figure a price when you don't tell us what the swap includes? People need to think before they post.
